Dr. Jeff Shire received his PhD from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Communication. He has taught in Kentucky, Iowa, Indiana, and Dubai, UAE. His interest in social media has resulted in several publications and presentations both nationally and internationally. Dr. Shires has a long career as a curriculum developer, having created programs, tracks, and courses for online and offline environments. His missions to help learners reach their goals and to use education to help people better their lives has led him to SMRI and to help to spread knowledge and skills in Social Media First Aid™ and Social Media Harms.™ Dr. Shires lives outside of Chicago, IL with his wife, Tami, and two high-energy Chihuahuas.
