Teddy (Tewodros) Berihun is a seasoned digital and information systems expert in the development space with over 15 years of professional experience in the field. He currently serves as the Director of Information Systems at the Palladium group, where he oversees a team of professionals in ensuring effective and efficient information systems implementations. Teddy has held technical and leadership roles with notable organizations such as USAID, BMGF, PATH, and CHAI, working in Ethiopia, Southern and Eastern Africa regions.His areas of expertise include mHealth, supply chain information systems, digital health, and e-Health architecture. As the Senior HIS Advisor with USAID, Teddy worked with the Government of Ethiopia and healthcare stakeholders to ensure a sustainable health information system supported by well-coordinated donor activities and projects.Teddy has a diverse professional background, having worked briefly in the private sector for Progressive Insurance as a software test engineer on the quality assurance team. He also ran his own IT company and was a Professor of Information Systems and Technology at the University of Addis Ababa and Africa Beza College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.Teddy has extensive knowledge of information technology and public health IT standards, including semantic exchange, privacy/security, and applications such as EMRs, laboratory information systems, DHIS, HIE, eLMIS, among others. He obtained a master's degree in information systems from the University of Addis Ababa in 2007, and additional master's level training in software engineering from Florida Institute of Technology.Aside from his impressive professional achievements, Teddy is an avid soccer player and fan, as well as an enthusiastic salsa dancer. He takes pride in being a dedicated father to his 11-year-old daughter, Zeinna Berihun.
